HI PLAST – AE

Description

HI PLAST – AE is a chloride free formulated for use as an air entraining admixture for concrete of all types and is manufactured under rigid control which assures uniform and precise performance. It is supplied as a translucent water white coloured solution which instantly disperses in water.

USES

To improve cohesion and workability of concrete mixes.

To produce air entrained concrete for increased durability and resistance to damage by frost and deicing salts.

As part of a combined admixture system for the production of ready mixed retarded mortar.

ADVANTAGES

Provides a stable air void system with proper bubble size and spacing. This air void system protects concrete against damage caused by repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Concrete is made more resistant to de-icing salts, sulfate attack and corrosive water.

Air entrainment improves workability and helps produce a dense, uniform, close textured surface free from gravel nests and sand runs, so further enhancing durability.

Minimizes bleeding and segregation of the concrete

Excellent air bubble stability allows use with a wide range of aggregate qualities and mix conditions

Hi Plast-AE  is available in  220lt  HDPE Barrels.

DIRECTIONS

Dosage

There is no standard addition rate for Hi Plast-AE . The amount to be used will depend upon the amount of air required for job conditions, usually in the range of 0.2 to 0.8%. Typical factors which might influence the amount of air-entraining admixture required are temperature, cement, sand gradation, and the use of extra fine materials such as fly ash and microsilica .  Pretesting of concrete should be performed to confirm dosage rates required to achieve desired concrete performance.

Dosages outside the typical ranges suggested on this sheet may be used if necessary and suitable to meet particular mix requirements.

 Dispensing

 The correct quantity of hi Plast-AE  should be measured by means of a recommended dispenser. the admixture should then be added to the concrete with the mixing water to obtain the best results.

 Curing

 As with all structural concrete, good curing practice should be maintained. Water spray, wet hessian or a Hi Cure spray applied curing membranes should be used.

SHEL LIFE

 12 Months in unopened containers under normal warehouse conditions.

SAFETY

 Hi Plast-AE is non-toxic. Any splashes should be rinsed thoroughly with water. Splashes to the eyes should be washed immediately with water and medical advice should be sought. Hi Plast-AE is non-flammable.
