HI- JOINT MORTAR is a rapid set joint mortar designed for the jointing of pavements units constructed with clay, natural stone, granite setts, concrete flags and paving bricks.

Uses

Hi Jointing Mortar can be used in the following applications;

• Jointing of natural stone setts and slabs
• Joints to kerbing
• Jointing of concrete flags
• Jointing of clay pavers

PACKING

Hi Joint Mortar  is available in  20kg  bags.

MIXING

Ensure the paving is free from any dust, dirt or grease, presoaked and having all ponded water removed prior to application. To overcome any potential segregation that has occurred during transit, thoroughly mix the maxi bag contents before use.

Hi Joint Mortar should be mixed with approximately3.5 litres of clean potable water,per 20kg bag of material, for 3-4  minutes to reach a lump free flowing consistent slurry.

 Do not remix or add additional water to the mix. Only mix enough material which can be placed in within 10 minutes.

Pour the fresh mortar onto the prepared paved area and chase into all joints with a soft brush or squeegee. Ensure joints are full, allowing for settlement and remove any excess material with the squeegee once joints are full.

Spray a mist of water onto the area at all times to aid the cleaning process. When the joints are sufficiently hard (this could be as soon as 15-20 minutes) remove any residual material with a constant flow of waterand a diagonal sweeping action.

STORAGE

Hi Joint Mortar will keep for up to six months if kept in a dry store, up off the ground, and providing the bags remain sealed. High temperature and high humidity conditions may reduce the storage life of the product.

SAFETY

 Hi Joint Mortar contains cement powders which can be harmful to the skin. During use, avoid inhalation of dust and contact with the skin and eyes. Wear suitable clothing, gloves, eye protection and respiratory protective equipment.
